Compensating people for their time and expertise is critical to ethical participatory research and this often takes the form of paying them. But paying people isn’t always a straightforward process. Failure to pay people properly and on time can damage our relationships with partners and/or participants and compromises our ethical practice. So, how do you get it right?

Join Helen Featherstone, Head of Public Engagement, and Rob Cooper, Public Engagement Officer, to discuss how we can pay people for being involved or engaged with research. From setting up a supplier, to filling out a Pre-NESA assessment, setting up a Purchase Order and receiving an invoice. Choosing and following the right process and communicating this to your partners is crucial to getting them paid properly and on time.

Helen and Rob will share their experience of how to get this right both for the University and for public contributors.
