About this event

Science & Tech • Other

This webinar is for PhD students, researchers, and research support staff who create or collect research data during their project and may be required to write, review or meet commitments of existing data management plan (DMP).

The University and most funding bodies now require researchers who collect data of some sort as part of their work, to write a data management plan (DMP). Plans typically state what data will be created and how, where will it be stored and backed up during the active research phase, and how will it be shared and preserved beyond the lifetime of the project, noting what is appropriate given the nature of the data and any restrictions that may need to be applied.

Learning objectives

By the end of this session you will gain an understanding of:

  • Best practice in research data management (RDM)
  • University of Leicester specific services, guidance and support for RDM
  • Data management planning support tools and guidance such as DMPOnline and UK Data Service.
  • An awareness of the different requirements from research funders.
