If you are selling your work - at markets, in shops, online or to friends and family - you will have to name your price. But how do you know if the price is right? Most importantly, how do you calculate a price that ensures you are earning a living? And what do you do if you aren't...?
In this month's Makers' Club meeting Jane Doxey, a product development and retail expert, will lead you step by step through the process of calculating what you should be charging. Jane has a wealth of product development and buying experience with clients including Marks & Spencer and Boots, luxury brands such as Liberty's and Harrods, and international brands like Sega and Nike.
Jane will explain the difference between selling direct to consumers, wholesale, and retail – and how you should adjust your prices accordingly. And she will also highlight additional factors, such as knowing how much your competitors charge.
Please bring an item with you that you currently sell or would like to sell, as we will be doing a practical exercise as part of the workshop.
If you want to know how to work out realistic prices, this is one meeting you mustn't miss!
Entry is free to Makerhood Makers' Club members and £5 to non-members.
