Event description

Description

The Conversation is a global independent source of news and views, sourced from the academic and research community and delivered direct to the public. It is run by a team of professional editors who work with university and other research experts from more than 70 institutions in the UK, to produce articles on their areas of knowledge for use by the wider public. Click here to view their website.

The Conversation allows other media outlets to republish articles, with articles regularly rerun anywhere from the Guardian to the Washington Post. Writers are regularly approached by newspapers and broadcasters for follow-ups. Greater reach leads to far greater exposure for your research.

Ruth Dawson, Wales Editor, will be delivering a masterclass on how to write for the both the media, and in particular how to write for The Conversation.

The workshop will include a presentation from Emily Marchant, PhD Researcher (HAPPEN project). Emily will be speaking about the benefits she has experienced from pitching and publishing in The Conversation.

This is an internal event for Data Science Building staff only.
