How to recruit foster carers using social media (NAFP members' events)
Since our highly popular workshops in 2015 and 2016, new developments across the sector for the provision of children’s services will affect all NAFP members.
Demand for foster care placements is rising. More than ever we must deliver value for local authorities. As independent fostering providers, we must continuously improve our offer by updating our carer recruitment strategies. Together, we can then continue to recruit new foster carers with the right skills and in locations as needed across the country.
Social media is still largely untapped, yet full of potential to enable us to reach prospective carers more effectively than ever. NAFP has commissioned Sean Parry (was Ferrer), a foster carer recruitment specialist, to deliver an up to the minute best practice workshop with the specific objective of helping you to recruit new foster carers online.
Workshops will be held in more than one location, with lunch, refreshments, and where available, free parking provided. Whilst these events are free of charge to NAFP members, we will have to pass on our costs to anyone who registers and does not attend without letting us know.
Each exclusive day of training and debate will comprise:
Session 1—Understanding your audience
Identifying and understanding your target audience
500+ fostering agencies/branches—and feedback from prospective carers
Getting your message right: Why foster? Why now? Why with you?
Break (15 mins)
Session 2—Identifying the need
