Description

The Future Economy Network is excited to be welcoming representatives from NUS, We Are DNA – Employee Value proposition and subscribers Cabot Training who will be discussing how they are managing the challenges of Recruiting, Training and Retaining Talent in The Future Economy.

As the UK economy enters a period of unprecedented uncertainty a recent survey of 300 in-house and agency recruiters, revealed a staggering 83.9% saying that a lack of relevant talent is one of the main challenges they’re facing right now.

What’s more, the Office of National Statistics continues to report on unemployment being at its lowest rate for well over 40 years, suggesting more people are in work and not actively looking for jobs.

Bristol currently enjoys an impressive Employment rate of 76.6%.

Recruiting, Training and retaining staff in 2019, the focus has to be about building and maintaining an active and live network as a talent pipeline for current and future needs, training and developing existing staff.

This will help in reducing time-to-hire as well as shaping the employer brand , with many recognising the importance of using sustainability as a recruiting tool.

John Tarrant, Managing Partner, We Are DNA will be talking about how for many organisations constant change and ‘Doing more with less’ is the new normal and, in an employment market where lack of competitive edge can be terminal for some businesses, your EVP and an effective and compelling employer brand are essential weapons to have in your armoury. Your Employer Value Proposition is your statement of intent as to what you stand for as an employer and how you want to be known in the audiences that matter to you. It is the basis of your reputation as an employer and to what extent your People Plan will be able to deliver for the Business Plan. John will outline how to develop your Employer Value Proposition and Employer Brand and, critically, how to operationalise them within your business to deliver transparent ROI. He’ll share some client examples and hopefully provide some valuable tips and insight which you can apply in your own business immediately. All in ten minutes. (!)

Karen Brasier, Director, Cabot Training will provide an insight on how leaders can leverage training to ignite results. Most organisations accept that training is worthwhile and yet most initiatives fizzle or fail! Her presentation pulls her experiences as an operations director in an LED Lighting company exporting to over 40 countries(GDS) and her work with Greg Schinkel International author of Employees not doing what you expect and Fusion or Fizzle – linking training to executive priorities.
