How to run a GET MORTAL funeral planning workshop

Join us for a 90-minute online workshop where we'll show you, our fellow death and grief workers (funeral celebrants, death doulas and other EOL workers), how to run GET MORTAL funeral-planning workshops and parties.

Our experience is that GET MORTAL funeral planning workshops are lively, creative, hands-on, and surprisingly joyful for participants. We'll share with you how to guide small groups through conversations about the funeral choices available in the UK, and different approaches to creating amazing farewell ceremonies.

We’ll walk you through:

• How to structure a 60–120 minute GET MORTAL workshop (online or in person)
• The DEAD GOOD way of easing people into talking about death and funerals without excessive amounts of doom and gloom.
• Creative activities that get people thinking about who they are and how they want to be remembered.
• How to weave in 'alternative' options, like living funerals, natural burial and other less conventional practices.
• Running sessions for friendship groups, workplaces, community organisations and more.
• Holding space with warmth, humour, inclusivity and leftfield questions.
• How to fund and/or charge for these workshops.
• Guidance on how to become a licensed user of our GET MORTAL resources (optional) in your own work.
