When organisations are commissioning mediation to resolve a situation, there are as many variables as mediation and mediators. Finding the right match for the culture of your organisation will define how it is perceived by those involved in a conflict, those paying for the commission and those watching from the sidelines.
This presentation aims to encourage participants to identify hazards and opportunities when commission a mediation, which will include selecting the right person to conduct the mediation, why organisations need to let go and trust the process, what happens when an organisation attempts to micro manage a mediation commission and the supervision of the mediation process. There will be plenty of opportunity for discussions and questions throughout the session.
Liz Law has been a mediator since 1997 working in a wide variety of contexts, her services are usually sought where conflicts have become entrenched and she works together with those affected by a dispute to explore positive ways to resolve all types of complaints in the work situation.
