About this event

“If you don’t know what port you are sailing to, no wind is favourable’ (Seneca)

The choppy waters of an artist’s life are occasionally so stormy they can throw our ship off course. Learning to navigate the undulating waves of isolation and rejection alone can be testing.

This class will help you to identify your true North and develop resilience, so you can roll with the swells and surges, bounce back quickly, and regain your sense of direction.

Ceri Hand, Founder of Artist Mentor, will be your deck hand in this class. Drawing on 30-years’ experience of traversing the tempestuous arts landscape, she will share candid tales of derring-do and calamity, along with tried and tested ways of predicting the weather and galvanising your inner crew.

SPACE Advice Bureau is a SPACE artist initiatives programme, providing free advice and guidance to all members of the SPACE community. Launched during the pandemic in 2020 in response to your requests and suggestions in the Tenant Survey, this programme includes one-to-one mentoring, webinars, coaching and peer-to-peer sessions to support you in developing your artist practice.
