Community repair projects are springing up across the UK to help reduce waste, build community and facilitate skill-sharing.
These include 'repair cafes', which are community events where people can learn how to fix their broken household items alongside an experienced volunteer.
Other projects focus on fixing up and distributing laptops and mobile phones to people who are digitally excluded, including refugees, asylum seekers and people shielding due to COVID-19.
In this webinar, we will explore a variety of community repair projects and look at the practical aspects of setting one up, including volunteer recruitment, health and safety, fundraising and impact measurement.
We will also discuss the additional support available from CAG Oxfordshire, Repair Café Wales and The Restart Project.
Speakers include:
- Anaïs Bozetine from Community Action Groups (CAG) Oxfordshire
- Phoebe Brown from Repair Café Wales
- Jo Harvey from Sustainable Wantage
There will be time for questions following the presentations.
