Do you want to set up, or have you recently started, a Community Interest Company (CIC)?
This practical workshop, run by the Business Skills Hub, is designed to give new directors the knowledge, tools, and confidence to run their CIC effectively and in line with UK regulations. You’ll learn what’s legally required, how to stay on top of your finances, and the key documents and systems that keep your organisation running smoothly.
The workshop includes a practical toolkit to help you put in place all the governance, financial, policy and administrative building blocks your CIC needs. It’s a day-long course, with the morning focused on the toolkit—how to use it and the steps to take as your community business comes to life. The afternoon is dedicated to open discussion, giving you the chance to ask questions specific to your organisation and explore common challenges and solutions.
Gemma Pearce from the Business Skills Hub (www.businessskillshub.co.uk) has run an accountancy and bookkeeping business for the past 13 years. She has developed this toolkit to guide you through each stage, sharing what she’s learnt to help you confidently start and manage your CIC.
