Join leading companies at a series of ‘innovation sprints’ to understand and tackle some of the key challenges around sustainable food - How to solve the sustainable food puzzle - on 3 October 2017, 09:30 – 16:30. Kindly hosted by The Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures at the University of Sheffield.

This event will bring together the best minds - experts, businesses, academics, NGOs – to explore the puzzle, find ways to solve the different pieces of the puzzle, and plan a way forward for your organisation, our communities and the planet.

Learn from experts, innovate for your future and make a plan for success.

Topics we will explore:

· Reducing carbon in the food value chain

· Finding a metric for soil health

· Engaging agricultural suppliers

· Consumer food waste

· Tackling waste from farm gate to plate/shelf

· Sustainable agriculture for profitable production

· Reducing food miles and/or their impact

· Sustainable food for sustainable society

Each session includes challenging and inspiring snapshots from our experts, and a chair to guide the ensuring discussion. A plenary session will bring together the pieces of the puzzle, with an opportunity for brief feedback. Following the event, a plan will be created showing the progress expected over time.

Sessions will be structured to use the CLEAR IDEAS innovation sprint process led by Dr Kamal Birdi C. Occ. Psychol., Sheffield University Management School.
