How to Create and Deliver a World Champion Speech
Imagine, it's August 2015, you’re sitting in the wings at Caesars Palace Hotel in Las Vegas. You have just delivered your best speech to an audience of 2000, along with 10 other contestants and now all you can do is wait with bated breath for the results!
Third place is announced. You are relieved, and disappointed – what if you don’t get placed? Second place is announced. The tension is all around.
Heart pounding furiously as they announce “The winner of the 2015 World champion of public speaking is …. You”
Have you ever wondered what it takes to create and deliver a world class speech, that can beat several thousand contestants to become world champion of public speaking?
Would it change your life, or career, if you were an outstanding speaker?
Or are you simply wanting to become a better speaker?
Wonder no more!
In this entertaining and extremely informative evening, Past UK and Ireland District Governor for Toastmasters International, Freddie Daniells, will take us through videos of two separate World Championship winning speeches and then look into similarities and characteristics of a world champion speech.
He will facilitate the evening, investigating the style, structure, delivery techniques, what works, and what may not work, to see how we can create top class speeches ourselves.
If you are serious about improving your speaking skills, learning how to craft an excellent speech and perhaps develop life-changing skills and confidence, then this is the workshop for you.
Come along to Wokingham Speakers special World Champion Speech night, be inspired to discover skills that may lay dormant in you. Network and build friendships with other like-minded people, who may be able to help you on your own journey, whatever that may be.
How will the evening run?
From 7.10-7.30pm arrive, network, relax
7.30pm the meeting will commence with President Amanda Bouch opening the evening, and introducing our guest speaker Freddie Daniells
Freddie will spend the next 60 – 80 minutes, showing the 2005 and 2013 world champion winning speeches, then with the audience, we will look closely at style, techniques, structure, content, humour, etc. He will pick out consistencies - what really works, what stands out, what do we believe judges are looking for, and more.
We will take a break for refreshments (provided), to network and relax, before the last session of the evening. Here Freddie will distill his ever popular Evaluation workshop, delivered to some 200 Toastmaster clubs, into a 30-40 minute session, to complete the evening.
And Finally
We invite everyone to join us at "The Ship" a hostelry within a short walk of the venue.
