Join us for an inspiring evening as Professor Tanya Byron explores how we can survive and thrive in the modern world.
The frantic pace of modern life presents big challenges for our mental wellbeing - from the always-on nature of digital devices and social media to the difficulties of juggling our many different work commitments, projects, relationships and family needs.
Prof Byron will explore these challenges and share some practical things we can do to look after our psychological health, deal effectively with modern technology, cope better with challenges and help create healthier relationships and happier families.

About The Speaker
Professor Tanya Byron is an expert psychologist, writer and broadcaster. She appears regularly on BBC television and radio discussing topics relating to psychology, mental health, young people and education. She is author of Your Child, Your Way, Little Angels and most recently The Skeleton Cupboard: The making of a clinical psychologist.
In 2008 Tanya was commissioned by the Prime Minister to undertake The Byron Review: Safer children in a digital world which led to a number of policy changes. She has been awarded Honorary Doctorates by the University of York and the Open University for her "outstanding and exceptional contribution to science, education and culture".
Tanya is also Chancellor of Edge Hill University, Professor of Psychology at Shangdong University (China), Honorary Lecturer at UCL and UEL, a Fellow of the RSA, Patron of Prospex and Patron of Relate.

This event will take place at Conway Hall in central London on Tuesday 18 October 2016. Doors will open at 18:30 and the event will start at 19:00
This event is in support of Action for Happiness. We want to make it accessible to as many people as possible, so rather than charging a fixed fee we're instead asking you to make a donation. It would be great if you could donate £20, but if you can spare more, or feel unable to give that much, then please give what you feel is appropriate.
Any funds raised (beyond the costs of the event) will contribute directly to Action for Happiness' work to promote mental wellbeing in local communities. Action for Happiness is part of the Young Foundation, a Registered Charity (274345) in England and Wales.
