Event description
Learn how to take better images in this free digital photography training led by Emma Sherab

About this Event

- Do you like taking photos, have your own camera (basic or advanced) and would like to learn how to take better images?

- Can you help us photograph Sydney Gardens Bath before our National Lottery funded restoration project begins?

- In return, you get this free photography workshop training!

The training workshop

This documentary photography workshop is aimed at all levels, including complete beginners, using their own equipment. Starting with a brief introduction to framing, lighting and composition, the course will then take on a practical approach, shooting outside in Sydney Gardens to see how the changes we make in our settings, approach and technique affects each image.

The session, led by Emma Sherab, Associate Lecturer in Photography BSU & Freelance Photojournalist, will also include a brief one-to-one to make sure what is taught is relevant to participants and their camera.

Be part of the Sydney Gardens Project

In the final part of the workshop, we will ask you to photograph a specific area of Sydney Gardens. We request that you send copies of these photos (by digital transfer, all will be explained) to the Sydney Gardens Project for our project records.

- You will be invited to continue to photograph the park over the course of our project as the restoration project progresses, if this is of interest and you have the time to volunteer. Further training will be offered.

- The images you take will be used in the Sydney Gardens project archive (B&NES Council & B&NES records office) to map the changes and developments in the public park. Photographer would be credited, and images will not be used commercially.
