How to take cuttings from a bouquet

About this Event
Any time is a good time to receive fresh flowers. Some people think buying someone flowers is a waste of time and money because, eventually, the bouquet will die and have to be thrown out. Chances are these people don’t know how to cut flowers from a bouquet!
The process is called propagation, where you take trimmings off of other plants to replant and make new plants.
LIST OF ITEMS NEEDED
Do not worry if you dont have access to these items, you can still particiapte and save those tips for the next time you recieve or buy a bouquet of flowers,
- Bunch of carnations, chrysanthemums or other perennial cut flowers (Using this method for roses is much harder and not always possible due to the methods used for their production)
- Plastic plant pot or old plastic container with added drainage holes (e.g. yoghurt pot)
- Scissors, secateurs, or snips (cleaned to avoid infection)
- Multi-purpose compost
- Pearlite, vermiculite, or grit (optional but advised)
- Rooting hormone (optional)
- Pencil
- Transparent bag such as a sandwich bag or the plastic wrap from a magazine (optional)
