Event description
The great philosophers of history also lived through turbulent times with urgent problems - so why not learn from them to improve our own?

About this Event

We like to think about the great philosophers of history as chilled-out theorists sitting under some tree in their garden in their toga or wig, serenely pondering the great questions of human existence, morality, and society, and the secrets of the cosmos.

In reality these great minds lived their lives amongst upheavals very similar to our own: wars and plagues, recessions and reforms, heartbreaks, illness, and personal loss.

At this Interintellect Salon, we will explore one another's personal philosophies, and familiarise ourselves with a few well-known philosophers' particularly relevant models of thought - we will discuss scepticism and intuition, personal liberty and social responsibility, and the nature of one's identity through their works.

We hope you can join us!
