FAQ’s

Please find below the most common questions students have asked with their corresponding answers. However, should you have any further queries please contact Student Wellbeing Advisor, Paul Howells: paul.howells@bristol.ac.uk

1.Does it cost anything to sign up?

No, this course is completely free. It is open to any student at University of Bristol who would like to learn more about looking after their wellbeing.

2.How will I be expected to participate in the session?

This two hour session is provided in a tutorial format, where the presenter will provide numerous techniques and information designed to assist all attendees in a variety of situations university life and life in general will present. There are NO breakout groups. The presenter will request for you to have your camera on during the session if you feel able and comfortable to do so. This supports the presenter through with live feedback e.g. head nods, shakes, thumbs up etc to ensure the session is meeting the needs of the attendees. There will be questions during the session which you are welcome to answer via audio if you choose or the chat box. There will be physical activities during the session which are accessible within a small space e.g. bedroom, which you are invited to take part in should you wish to.

3. Can I take part in the course anonymously?

The session is run on Zoom which will display any name inputted, most often the name you have signed up to the platform with. We recommend that you change you ‘display name’ to your FIRST NAME ONLY.

4. Do I have to have my camera on during the workshop?

No, you don’t have to. You are free to turn your camera off at any point during the session.

However, we do encourage students to join with their cameras on if possible. The session aims to build a sense of community in the short time we are together, for we feel that is something a lot of people could benefit from, recognising that everyone who is attending wishes to improve their situation in some way or another.

5. Will the workshop be recorded?

No, our sessions will never be recorded.

6. Will what I say during the workshops be shared with anyone?

The session is predominantly lead by the presenter, but parts of the session are open to participants to ask questions to ensure the content meets their needs where possible. These questions or comments are not recorded in any way.

7. Can I sign up with a friend or family?

This course is for University of Bristol Students, as it requires a student valid email to sign up to the session. As long as the session has been signed up to with a valid University of Bristol Student email, who attends with you on your computer for the session will be welcomed as well.
