About this event
Why not join us at Tinsley Marina ror a free hands on family friendly session learning how to operate a lock as well as travelling though a lock on a boat. The session will be followed by some arts & crafts. For people aged 4+
Tinsley is a beautiful marina in Tinsley, Sheffield. This historic canal is over 200 years old. The canal was built like todays city roads, to transport goods all the way to London and beyond (before trains, and certainly lorries, existed).
Tinsley marina is a beautiful green area in our city surrounded by colourful narrowboats and nature.
This activity is a family-friendly activity suitable for all ages with an interest in our canals, boats, locks and how they work. We will have a range of practical activities and demonstrations suited for all the family.
Whilst on site, why not take a trip to see the new Looping Boat artwork on the water. Just a short walk from Tinsley Marina.
