Event description
How to Use Real World Data from LTHT for research

About this event

“An abundance of real world data is collected daily in Leeds Teaching Hospitals. These data are invaluable for their primary purpose of diagnosing and treating our patients. Have you considered that these data can also be utilised for a secondary purpose? Research and Innovation. The insights gained by analysing these data can drive forward the development of new and better treatments and services. The data can be used to develop innovative medical technologies, such as those using artificial intelligence and machine learning.

How may we legally and ethically use patient data for these purposes?

What process needs to be followed for you to obtain data for your projects?

The course How to Use Real World Data from LTHT for Research is aimed at anyone wanting to improve care for patients. Maybe you have some ideas already on how to do this. Maybe you don’t. This course will stimulate ideas for potential uses of real world data and help you to understand what is involved in gaining access to the data for your project.”
