Welcome to "How to write your first play"
Have you ever dreamed of being a writer—but didn’t know where to begin?Well this promises to be a welcoming, hands-on workshop for anyone who’s ever thought, “I’d love to write something… but I wouldn’t know where to start.”
Led by Scottish playwright Éimi Quinn, this workshop is all about helping you take the first bold step. Whether you’ve got a full story bubbling away or just a flicker of an idea, Éimi will guide you through the early stages of playwriting, getting it out of your head and onto the page.
Éimi’s own journey began with her first play, 'The Funeral Club', as it became a breakout hit with A Play, A Pie and A Pint. She’s since recieved rave reviews for 'Dookin Oot' which toured nationally, and is in development work for TV. Her message is simple: if she can do it as a wee lassie from Springburn, then so can you!
This isn’t about lectures or theory—it’s a creative, confidence-boosting afternoon full of writing exercises, story chats, and practical advice. You’ll learn how to shape characters, build scenes, and start writing in your own voice. Most of all, you’ll leave believing that you can be a writer.
📅 Saturday 19 July🕛 12:00 – 3:30pm💷 £30 per person
Bring a notebook, an open mind—and that idea you’ve been meaning to write. This is your sign to begin.
