I-SEE Sustainable Energy & the Environment Webinar
How useful is law and regulation in facilitating our transition to green energy?
Ross Fairley, Senior Partner at Burges Salmon LLP
Can we rely on legal measures to persuade businesses and individuals to value our environment and to decarbonise our energy system? Ross has been working as a lawyer in the environmental and clean energy sector for 30 years and this webinar will cover his view on how helpful law and regulation can be and in practice, is, in facilitating the transition to green energy. It will not be an in-depth study into the Acts and Regulations but more a view as to what are the benefits and limitations of the law for decarbonising. Ross has experience of lobbying for changes in law, helping devise new regulations and policy instruments and working with Government and policy makers via industry working groups, on the practical matters to consider when looking to incentivise the energy transition.
