Event description

Description

Your annual report to the Charity Commission is a window to your charity’s governance standards - is yours unintentionally revealing your flaws to potential funders?

The report is not only a statement of your charity’s activities over the past year, but also sets out your charity’s approach to governance – through what it reveals as well as what it keeps hidden.

  • Do you understand the governance standards funders expect and look for?

  • Funders use the annual report as a means of checking up on your charity’s activities and professionalism. How does yours stack up?

This session will highlight some of the key areas many funders will look at, and help you identify where you may need to improve your charity’s approach.During the session you will hear about some of the key things that funders look for, as well as have the opportunity to go through your own most recent annual report to identify areas to build on.

Come and discuss this and more with Felicia Willow, a Charity Consultant working with small-to-medium charities as well as a Grants Manager for a UK funder. A human rights lawyer by training, she has worked at the senior and executive level of a number of UK charities. As CEO, she has taken two medium-sized charities through successful transformational change, achieving significantly increased funding and operational success. She now supports small-to-medium charities to be more effective while also managing the grants programme for the British & Foreign Schools Society.
