Event description

Description

A one day long skillshare that will focus on what you and your organisation can do to build networks of activists that deliver change.

The day is led by Hahrie Han, author of "How Organisations Develop Activists", which looks at different civil society organisations' methods of organising people for action in the US.

This skillshare will provide you with an opportunity to learn from Hahrie, hear from practitioners working in grassroots activism in the UK and provide space for you to reflect on how to implement or expand organising principles in your organisation.

Who is this for?
This skillshare is for anyone working to support activism within their organisation. It's aimed at those who are looking to build more effective activism networks. It'll be participatory day where you'll have lots of opportunities to share your successes and challenges with others.

What will you learn?
Throughout the day we'll have input from Hahrie, as well as colleagues working in the UK. We hope the day will provide a unique opportunity to network with other campaigners working in NGOs in the UK who are interested in sharing learning and best practice. The day will provide space to;

  • Learn from Hahrie about power-building and movements

  • Reflect on her research plus learn from people implementing organising approaches in the UK.

  • Equip participants with practical tools to help develop and launch this work within their organisation.

  • Build a community of professionals working in NGOs in the UK who are interested in sharing learning and best practice

The cost includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day. This skillshare is part of a series of events with Hahrie that have been organised by Christian Aid, ActionAid, Friends of the Earth and Bond.
