Event description
UCL-wide HPC Carpentry Workshop for new Myriad users, teaching basic skills for high performance computing

About this event

May 17th - 19th, 2021

Where: Online - details of how to connect will be sent via email before the event

When: Monday 17th to Wednesday 19th May, 2021. (You must attend all 3 days). We will start at 10:00 and end at 13:00 each day, but you are strongly encouraged to come along at 9:30 on day 1 to test that everything is working.

Who: This is a workshop aimed at UCL postgraduate students and research staff who have not used an HPC cluster before. You do not need to be familiar with the Unix/Linux command line, as this will be taught on the first morning of the workshop. The second and third days will teach you the skills you need to get up and running on the UCL Myriad high throughput cluster.

Requirements: This is an online course; participants must have a laptop (Windows, Mac or Linux) to work on, not a tablet. You must apply for access to Myriad in advance of the course via the web form at the following link:

Please make sure you have installed all of this beforehand, although help will be available before the start of the first session if you have any problems.
