Event description

Description

Pure and Birketts are delighted to invite you to join session 2 of our HR Development Programme in Cambridge.

Session 2 – How to develop coaching skills in the workplace?
Rob Nash, OpenThink Ltd

This workshop will be a whistle-stop tour through coaching – what it is, the pros and cons, how to do it, and some pitfalls to avoid. We’ll look at a simple but effective model for the coach to use, and review some of the skills needed to be a successful coach.

Rob will give you an opportunity to coach and be coached (in pairs) – so please come prepared with a ‘middle-weight’ topic, perhaps something you’ve been turning over in your mind for a while, which you would like to address.

About Rob

Rob helps people in business to become unstuck, up-skilled, more productive and ultimately enjoy their work more. He does this using consultancy, training and coaching.

A psychology graduate with a life-long interest in how people think and can be more effective, he is also a trained Business Coach, notably in Cognitive Behavioural Coaching, is a member of the Association for Coaching, a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner and accredited in the use of the DISC psychometric tool.

His first career was in sales and marketing – latterly as Director for the UK’s largest security software distributor, Unipalm, (now Arrow ECS). At the fulcrum of change in this fast-growing ‘internet bubble’ company, Rob had to build, manage and motivate diverse teams.

Outside work and family, he loves being in the fresh air and coaching, watching and playing rugby. Connect with Rob Nash on LinkedIn.
