About this event
Six perspectives. Three conversations. One evening to challenge your thinking. Join our dynamic in-person event designed to spark debate and uncover practical ideas.
The six perspectives you can choose from
1. Mind the language – How the words we use when talking about career development in organisations frame it as an individual responsibility — and how to shift towards shared ownership. (Led by Valerie Rowles)
2. Surveillance at work – From facial recognition to desk occupancy sensors, how far should monitoring go? Where’s the balance between security, efficiency, and trust? (Led by Zita Lourdes)
3. Flexible working & older workers – Drawing on recent research, explore how flexible working can improve retention, job satisfaction, and productivity for over-50s, and why it’s critical for the UK economy. (Led by Michael Larbalestier)
4. Reskilling for the future – With skills needs shifting fast, how can HR lead a reskilling strategy that serves both organisational goals and employee ambitions? (Led by Geoffrey Milton)
5. Balancing dual-career professionals – Insights from Emma Hart’s research into how organisations support (or fail to support) employees where both partners have demanding careers. (Led by Emma Hart)
6. EDI under pressure – With US EDI practice being reshaped by policy changes, what might this mean for the UK? Could it erode recent gains, or strengthen resolve to protect them? (Led by Willorna Brock)
