In this second training workshop we will explore the issues that occur when an employee is off sick. Staying focused on the logistics of someone being off sick (simply covering their workload) can be extensive. As a consequence monitoring sickness absence and obtaining medical evidence often falls off the radar. But when sickness issues are left on the backburner, problems often escalate and it becomes difficult to facilitate employees back into the workplace. With the word “discrimination” being used ever more freely in the workplace, recognising a disability and the risk of a potential employment claim is now more prevalent than ever.
In this session, we will give you the tools to reduce short term absence problems. We will guide you on how to support employees back into the workplace after long term sickness absence (for example the use of reasonable adjustments) – and failing that we’ll advise you how to fairly dismiss. No prior learning or qualifications are required. Whilst the session has been structured, it very much includes an open forum for you to ask questions.

- Disability discrimination and sickness absence

Cost: £70 plus VAT per session. There is a 10% discount for individual training sessions booked before 30 September.
