HRLA Review of the Year 2019
Event Information
Description
Every year, the Human Rights Lawyers Association invites you to join us for a look back at the year in human rights law. And it has been some year. A century of women in law, the 30 year anniversary of the Children Act 1989, Extinction Rebellion, Lord Sumption's Reith Lectures, the first Grenfell Tower Inquiry report, Miller No 2, facial recognition technology, abortion buffer zones, child covert intelligence, the sale of arms to Saudi Arabia, school protests, Shamima Begum, Lady Hale's spider brooch, the Birmingham Pub Bombings 1974 and benefit cap challenges. And not a mention of Brexit in sight... (almost)
Featuring a panel including Harriet Wistrich, David Anderson QC and Shaheen Rahman QC, Tony Murphy chaired by Angela Patrick and generously hosted by Allen & Overy, the event is always well attended so booking early is advised.
Join our panel to contemplate the human rights headlines of 2019 and consider the year to come.
