Hosted by Genette Duffy, Head of HR at Brymec.
Leading an HR function within any small, growing business can present all manner of challenges, albeit exciting ones! Often you are writing policies from scratch, attempting to build an effective HR infrastructure with little historic data to base your decisions on, and of course competing with larger, more established employers when it comes to talent attraction.
Hiring the right staff, positioning your business as a great place to work, staying true to your company values and history, and building high employee engagement levels are all important components of laying the foundations for a solid HR function.
At this HR Leadership Think Tank we'll be exploring the challenges of implementing HR in a small business environment whilst addressing the items below:
- Articulating your company culture
- Attracting talent and developing your EVP
- Award wins and accreditations with industry bodies
- Ensuring your existing staff are included on the journey

When & Where
HR Leadership Think Tank
The HR Leadership Think Tank, one of six sub-groups falling within the HR Think Tank Series, runs free to attend face to face networking events for senior senior strategic HR professionals (Heads / Directors of HR and HR Business Partners). It offers members a safe forum to discuss and share industry knowledge with their peers across the market.
All events are round table discussions, limited in numbers to between 15-20 members. The events, founded and facilitated by HR recruitment Consultancy Oasis HR, are focused on a particular topical issue that our members are facing, giving everyone ample opportunity to table discussion points and ask questions.
The general feedback we gain from new members is that it is refreshing to be able to have such open and candid conversations with peers facing the same challenges. Members also quickly build up a personal network that they can leverage off line when presented with new challenges.
