**PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A 3 DAY COURSE**
This intensive course meets the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety Executive to become a qualified first aider. HSE First Aid Guidelines state that low risk (shops, offices etc) premises employing more than 50 staff should have at least one fully qualified First Aider.
For medium risk (food processing, printing, warehousing, light engineering etc) premises employing more than 20 staff should have at least one fully qualified First Aider. For high risk (construction, chemical manufacture, dangerous machinery etc) premises employing more than 5 staff should have at least one fully qualified First Aider.
This qualification covers the following topics
· Health and Safety Responsibilities and incident management
· Priorities of First Aid
· Control of bleeding and using dressings
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
All candidates are required to bring photographic identification to the course, such as a passport, driving license, or work ID. You will not be permitted to sit your exam without photographic proof of ID. If you have any queries on this, please contact us before your course.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Orpington High Street is served by a number of bus services to destinations including Bromley, Catford, Lewisham, Sidcup and Bexleyheath.
Nearest bus stops to the College are The Walnuts Centre on Orpington High Street and also Homefield Rise.
Orpington rail station is the closest station to Orpington Campus and is a 15 minute walk away. High frequency services operate to London Victoria, London Bridge, Waterloo East and Charing Cross from this station. Other key London stations can also be accessed including Lewisham, Catford and Bromley South. Services from Kent also stop at Orpington including Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells, St Mary Cray rail station is a 45 minute walk or a 10 minute bus journey away. This station provides access to services from London to the Kent Coast including Rochester, Chatham, Ramsgate and Dover. Thameslink services to Farringdon, Kings Cross and Bedford are also accessed at this station.
