About this Event

Do you know what you must do as a HT/SLT to lead the necessary changes, ensuring your schools’ compliance with the new Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education Guidance?

Now is the time to focus on making important whole-school approach steps towards preparing for the new Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education (RSHE) Guidance.

The first step on your journey towards statutory RSHE is ensuring the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) within your school give the subjects high-status, providing strategic support in enabling development of the new statutory curriculum areas. The guidance is clear that a whole-school approach will achieve maximum impact on pupil health, wellbeing and safeguarding. Research evidences the positive contribution of effective PSHE on pupil attendance, attainment and overall school improvement. Schools which demonstrate effective practice often ensure clear responsibility for these subjects by a senior teacher in leadership position.

East Sussex Public Health have commissioned Educator Solutions to deliver a free PSHE Solution Programme to all schools within East Sussex. The aim of the programme is to ensure schools are positioned to meet the requirements of the new statutory Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education guidance. The programme will draw upon evidence based, best practice approaches ensuring a positive and lasting impact on pupil health, wellbeing and lifelong outcomes.

Outcomes -

* Briefing on key, relevant requirements of the new RSHE guidance

* Understanding of effective RSHE policy and practice

* Consideration of how to provide evidence of RSHE impact for Ofsted

* Be confident in your SLT role to coordinate the necessary whole-school approach steps towards ensuring compliance with the new RSHE guidance, including best practice approaches to positively impact on pupil health, wellbeing, attendance and attainment.
