Description
Growing Great Places is a new community crowdfunding programme to support citizens and organisations who have great ideas for making our local places even better. As part of this programme we are running two free community workshops in late January and early February.
We’re also providing extra support to citizens and organisations, to help you get great ideas off the ground in our local places. Along with our workshops and tailored project support, there is a fund of £50,000 available. Successful projects can potentially receive a pledge of up to £5,000 from Kirklees Council to support their campaign.
Come to one of our free workshops to:
- Learn about the programme and how you can get involved
- Hear about the funding available and the process to apply
- Learn about what makes a great crowdfunding project
- Get tips and advice on running a successful crowdfunding campaign
It’s helpful if you can book onto the event taking place nearest to where you or your group are based:
- Huddersfield and South Kirklees Workshop: Tuesday 28th January 5:30pm – 7:30pm
- North Kirklees Workshop: Tuesday 4th February 5:30pm – 7:30pm in Dewsbury Town Hall, Wakefield Old Road, Dewsbury WF12 8DG
Growing Great Places is all about making sure that more people can have a stake in what happens in our local places. Our towns, villages and communities are the strength of Kirklees. You might have a little idea that can have a big impact by bringing a place together. Or you might need some help growing support for an ambitious project that’s just getting started. This is the event to help get you started.
