Event description
An RBKC Supply Chain Webinar in association with CrosseHR

About this event

We are running this popular interactive webinar again for those of you who missed it first time around. It covers all aspects of HR/Personnel/People issues that you may have as a small business. This includes the legal stuff but also advice on how to deal with the practicalities of different personnel scenarios and avoid the case being taken to an employment tribunal.

Often companies make mistakes which can come back to haunt them. Typical among these are:

• I haven’t issued a contract, therefore I can sack them

• I’ve suspended them so I’m not paying them

• I’m not giving them a break as they are not busy

• If they don’t take their holiday they lose it

• They want to work 60 hours a week so I let them

• HMRC can’t touch me as all my staff are self employed

• I’m making my furlough employees redundant so I am paying the notice and redundancy based on the furlough payments

• They’ve been here for years self employed so I can just get rid of them

RBKC Supply Chain is offering you an opportunity to hear from an experienced HR professional who will explain what employment rights are and answer your questions about the common HR pitfalls facing companies today. Please come armed with your questions which will be answered in the Webinar.

The workshop will include:

• Brief introduction and update on RBKC Supply Chain

• Presentation by Olga Crosse covering:

o Recent HR issues such as Furlough and redundancies,

o Contract vs. agreement,

o Difference between worker and employee

o Common pitfalls e.g. wrong contract, not having the right clauses in, treating contingent labour the same as permanent labour, employee bad behaviour and timelines i.e. the 2 year rule

o Common myths and things to watch out for

• Q&A’s and Discussion
