About this event

The training room for the Mind our Rights Education Programme (MORE-P) is just beyond the Patients Council offices on the ground floor of the Andrew Duncan Clinic, Royal Edinburgh Hospital. This is the in the easterly part of the hospital site nearest to Morningside Rd. If entering the Clinic by the main (grey) automatic doors looking on to a carpark, follow the sign to out-patients reception. Then turn left and MORE-P is at the end of that corridor.

The unique training is delivered in regular sessions three times a month with additional sessions added on if requested. Two educator/advocacy workers from the programme team of seven will lead the training with insights gained from their own personal lived experience informing the delivery. It aims to be enlightening, enjoyable, and also challenging with plenty time allocated for discussion within the group. Included in the session examples of good practice from around the world will be examined as will human rights law nationally and internationally. We look forward to seeing you soon.

All educators have lived experience themselves and sessions run in a spirit of mutual respect and aim to increase understanding and recognition of all of our human rights. These sessions are lived-experience led, scenario-based introductions to the general principles of human rights law and use real-life scenarios to apply law and policy to real lived and living experience.
