Event description

Description

To mark Anti-Slavery Day 2019, the Scottish Government will be hosting a Stakeholder Forum on joint work to tackle trafficking and exploitation in Scotland and across the globe.

Speakers will include Ash Denham, Minister for Community Safety. This is an opportunity to hear an update on the implementation of the Trafficking and Exploitation Strategy, and also to feed in your views to a review of the Strategy.

The Strategy was published in May 2017, in accordance with the Human Trafficking and Exploitation (Scotland) Act 2015. Under the Act the Scottish Government is required to review the Strategy, and if necessary publish a new Strategy, every three years. A programme of engagement is planned to assess the impact of work across Scotland, and also to consider whether the goals and priorities should shift for future activity. The Anti-Slavery Day event will be the centrepiece of this engagement work and is your chance to help shape the focus for the coming years.

This event is free of charge and open to all with an interest in addressing the harm caused by human trafficking and exploitation.

Registration from 9:30am
