Human Trafficking and Homelessness (Rochdale)
Wed 29 March 2017, 18:30 – 21:00 BST
Trafficking in Homelessness Training - 6:30pm for a prompt 7pm start at St Mary's Church Rochdale.
Greater Together Manchester and Stop the Traffik are hosting this free training session to help raise awareness of Trafficking in Greater Manchester and the particular risks facing people who are homeless.
Human Trafficking is the fastest growing international crime and is happening in every community all over the world. It targets the most vulnerable in our society and seeks to use them as commodities from which to make profit.
Have you seen it? Would you know what to do if you suspected it? How would you help a victim? - In your community victims are trying to break free and will be arriving at our services for help.
People who are engaged in support services for homeless people can be vital eyes and ears in detecting this crime.
People are being bought, sold, used and moved everyday for the purpose of exploitation.
If you don't know what you are looking for how are you going to find it - spot it - report it - help the victims?
If you want to find out more about how your community can help and how to spot the signs in the homeless community then please come along to one of our sessions.
We want to make sure that all organisations are fully aware of the issue and are equipped with resources and training to address the issue and help the most vulnerable in our society as well as making communities hostile for traffickers to work in!
Who can attend this training?
This training session is open to anyone who wishes to learn more about human trafficking.
Where should I park for the training?
There is on street parking directly outside the church on St Mary's Gate. This is free but restricted to 3 hours up to 6pm and unrestricted between 6pm and 8am.
