Event description
Please come to our humanities careers evening.

About this Event

Humanities are popular subjects here at Dunottar School. Pupils love to study them and they are often chosen by pupils at GCSE and A Level. However, it is often more difficult for pupils to comprehend where these subjects might take them in the future. Despite this, there is a wealth of opportunities available to those who study the humanities and even take these through to university.

We’re delighted to invite you to our Humanities Careers Evening which will give your child insight into a possible future, through the study of humanities. The evening will be hosted by Clare Davis, Head of Publishing at Yale University Press, Social worker David Morley, who leads an NHS mental health team and Andy Porteous the Chief Strategy Officer at Mavens of London, a leading digital consulting company. Mr Bruff, the YouTube phenomenon, whose GCSE revision guides average 30,000 views a day, will also be making a guest presentation by the magic of video.

Set to take place on Thursday 7th November, from 6.00pm – 8.00pm in the main hall, this careers event is open to all students from Year 8 and above, to provide comprehensive insight into a selection of professions that sit under the umbrella of humanities.

The evening will open with a 10-15-minute presentation from each guest speaker, covering career entry points, personal experience, day-to-day responsibilities and a focus on the breadth of this industry.

Each presentations will be followed by an informal Q&A with each speaker, where you are encouraged to ask questions.
