Event description

Description

Would you like to be more confident and capable in using humour as a powerful tool in the world of work and business?

We are delighted that Gerry Maguire Thompson M.A. B.Sc. R.I.B.A. will be leading this event. He is a stand-up comedian, trainer, coach, international speaker and best-selling author with half a million books sold worldwide in many languages.

Gerry started out in professional life as an architect, then worked in health-and-wellbeing counselling. He trained in facilitation at Roffey Park international training and leadership institute.

During this entertaining and insightful session, Gerry will be discussing how humour is widely recognised as one of the most influential aspects of human communication; used wisely, it can transform your ability to win people over, win business and enjoy your professional life even more.

With humour, you can add impact to your message. You can put people at ease, engage with them and persuade them. You will be remembered. Mastery of humour can hugely increase your personal and professional confidence. Humour can disperse tension or anxiety, and make difficult subjects easier to address. Having the possibility of humour is just about essential.

In this highly-practical, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to start using humour, or hone your existing humour skills. You’ll gain an understanding of the working principles of humour and then apply them in whichever business settings you find most challenging, such as presentations, networking or meetings.

Think you’re just not funny? Don’t worry, we know how to help with that one...
