Humpback whale population insights with Ted Cheeseman, co-founder of Happy Whale

Using mark–recapture methods on the largest individual photo-identification dataset ever assembled for a cetacean, Ted will look at humpback whale populations, and reveal their recovery from whaling and response to climate change. While Ted's work focusses on the North Pacific Ocean, these vaulable insights into how humpback whale populations respond to stressors like climate change are globally important.
