ITV's voice of a generation declares the end of the mental health stigma by empowering and educating humanity.
Astronaut-in-training and Mental Health Campaigner calls in hundreds of people for Guinness World Record Attempt by introducing the world’s largest mental health Lesson.
Holding the learning event next week (Thursday 13th: 1pm-3pm), Ilford Town Hall is set to host an audience of 500 from 15 schools, local communities and influencers.
“Growing up in this day and age can be difficult. People nowadays have new challenges to contend with like social media, body image and physical appearance and even cyber bullying. Mental health education is crucial to help many get through the early stages of their life and I am a great believer in mental education to be put on the national syllabus. But for now, I’ve decided to host my own lesson with the hopes of raising awareness of mental health,” Hussain Manawer.
Celebrity support has rallied in from the likes of Good Morning Britain’s Sussana Reid and Piers Morgan, Match Of The Days Gary Linekar and ITV London’s Nina Hossain who’ve each pledged their support via video.
The lesson will span 60 minutes and aims to provide vital information on mental health to the crowd – including, Dame Professor Til Wilks (Kings College London) speaking on:
- Dealing with depression
- The effects of stigma
- Maintaining a good mental health
Future Astronaut Hussain Manawer will also be speaking / performing:
- The Importance of demolishing stigma
- Mental health advice and support
- Poetry performance
With strict rules in place to ensure the event adheres to the guidelines of Guinness World Record, participants must pay close attention; strictly no mobile phones allowed during the lesson time.
