SYNOPSIS

IT’s accelerating innovation, opportunities and consequences need all of us to identify, promote and contribute to good governance that exploits beneficial opportunities for society whilst minimising harm.

Together, let’s discuss together:

1. what governance is.

2. how governance applies to IT.

3. how to win from the combination of data, AI and cybersecurity.

4. obtaining the right skills.

5. who is in the driving seat: AI? The board? Big Tech? Regulators? Insurance companies? Cyber criminals?

6. making our governance framework doable.

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY

Sue is a business and IT governance specialist assisting companies to increase their organisational effectiveness.

For 2025, Sue is focusing on three aspects:

1. Refreshing the individual aspects of corporate governance to cope with the greater interdependencies between core and ancillary business functions, all within an environment of rising uncertainties.

2. Dealing with FOMO (the fear of missing out) that allows for swift technology adoption, such as AI and ‘anything and everything’ as a service, without strategic thinking, enabling shadow IT and AI to hide in plain sight.

3. Aligning business strategy, IT innovation and resource management with sensible control and oversight for robust and resilient organisations – placing business continuity at the strategic level.
