Bydd y cwrs hwn yn archwilio prosesau pontio disgyblion a'r modd y maent yn effeithio ar les cymdeithasol ac emosiynol unigolion, ynghyd â'u datblygiad academaidd.
Gan gydnabod bod dull ysgol gyfan a dealltwriaeth o brosesau pontio yn allweddol i wella deilliannau i bob plentyn, bydd y cwrs undydd hwn yn galluogi staff i ddeall pam y mae'n bwysig pontio'n iawn, a sut y gallai achos aflwyddiannus o addasu i fywyd mewn ysgol uwchradd effeithio ar les hirdymor a chyrhaeddiad addysgol unigolyn.
Er bod y diwrnod hyfforddi hwn yn cael ei ddarparu i gefnogi'r broses bontio rhwng ysgolion cynradd ac uwchradd, bydd y cynnwys hefyd yn rhoi ystyriaeth i brosesau pontio yn ystod y diwrnod ysgol a rhwng cyfnodau allweddol.
Erbyn diwedd y dydd, bydd y cyfranogwyr yn gallu gwneud y canlynol:
• Deall y gwahaniaethau rhwng prosesau pontio llwyddiannus ac aflwyddiannus
• Nodi'r ffactorau risg a diogelu o ran cynnal prosesau pontio llwyddiannus
• Nodi nodweddion unigol a allai effeithio ar brosesau pontio llwyddiannus
• Penderfynu ar y ffactorau amgylcheddol ehangach sy'n effeithio ar brosesau
pontio llwyddiannus.

This course will explore pupil transitions and how this impacts upon an individual’s social and emotional wellbeing as well as their academic development.
Recognising that a whole school approach and understanding of transition is key to improving outcomes for all children, this one day course will enable staff to understand why it is important to get transition right and how unsuccessful adaptation to secondary school can affect an individual’s long term wellbeing and educational attainment.
Whilst this training day is being delivered to support transition from primary into secondary, the content will also look transitions within the school day and between key stages.
By the end of the day participants will:
• Understand the differences between successful and unsuccessful transitions
• Identify the risk and protective factors for successful transition
• Recognise individual characteristics that may impact upon successful
transition
• Determine the wider environmental factors that affect successful transition
The course is open to Designated LAC Leads within schools or any member of staff with responsibility for transition of vulnerable pupils. ERW will also provide one days cover to schools to release the relevant member of staff. A form should be filled in on the training day attended.
The course is being held in various locations across the ERW region in March 2020 – click on the relevant Eventbrite to reserve your place.
