Our aim is to train you to a level where you are able to confidently and competently deal with almost any "problem" a client comes to you with.
Experience level: No previous experience of hypnosis or hypnotherapy is required. You will need a good understanding of written and spoken English and you must be medically fit to attend the course and as such, will be asked to sign a "fitness-to-practice declaration" (see below for medical contra-indications). You must be of good character, also be aware that you may be asked to apply for a DBS/CRB check (Disclosure & Barring Service/Criminal Records Bureau), particularly if you intend to work with children or vulnerable adults.
Age: You must have reached your 18th birthday prior to the exam date. You will also need to be sufficiently emotionally mature, to be able to work with clients and listen to a broad range of topics (including sexual problems, trauma, phobias, stress, chronic conditions and terminal illness).
Health: Before applying for a place on this course, please make contact with us if you have experienced or currently experience any psychological, psychiatric, medical, physical or neurological disorder, including:
- Panic attacks
- Bi-polar disorder
- If you are fitted with a pacemaker
- Severe visual/auditory impairment
- If you are currently experiencing undiagnosed pain
- Significant past physical /emotional trauma
- If you are using medication which may impair your concentration
We support learners with learning differences such as dyslexia. The NGH course materials are supplied in ring-bound folders with black ink on white paper in a sans-serif font. DVD’s and CD’s are also supplied in the course material. Supplementary material can be printed on pastel paper to suit the learners’ preferred learning approach.
