I am Iraqi Woman: In conversation with Ahlam Dukhanie, hosted by Shabina Aslam

About this event

Ahlam Desouki is an Iraqi refugee who now has British citizenship.

Ahlam arrived in the UK through the resettlement scheme after being displaced though war. Ahlam has migrated to a few countries before arriving in the UK and she says: "As a woman I feel safe and at long last secure , knowing I have a roof over my head and am content."

Ahlam will give a candid talk about her experiences as a single Iraqi woman and her experiences.

She is a long standing member of Biasan and volunteers with many refugee supporting organizations.

This event will be hosted by Shabina Aslam.

This event is free to attend but please book as spaces are limited.

This event is part of the Intercultured Festival, Bradford 20-30 October 2021.
