Event description

Description

How to write powerful and persuasive speeches that will delight your audience and boost your confidence!

The world might be a different place if Churchill had not been such a great orator. If Martin Luther King had said “Let me tell you about this idea, I’ve been imagining when I sleep.” Or if Mark Anthony had started his famous speech with “Listen up, plebs”.

Effective communication requires more than mere transmission!

To inform, inspire or entertain, you must first engage the interest and emotions of your listeners.

Join Solent Speakers for an informal and welcoming evening of Erudition, Entertainment and Elocution consisting of two fun and interactive workshops:

1. Your Next Speech (Article or Blog)…in less than 30 Minutes: discover an easy to follow formula to writing engaging and inspirational speeches, blogs and presentations.
(presented by Russell Streeter)

2. How to be an effective, entertaining and inspirational Toastmaster (by Steve Brookfield)

3. I Came, I Saw, I Conquered ...and other rhetorical devices: learn how to rally the rules of rhetoric to persuade with power and inspire action through language.
(Russell Streeter)

This evening of self-development is open to everyone and no previous public speaking experience is required.

A small charge of £3 to cover the room hire will be collected on the night.

Join Fareham's friendliest public speaking club and learn some new skills for 2017!
