Event description

Description

Many of us are deeply concerned at the cuts to welfare benefits, and the devastating impact on many vulnerable people, particularly those with disabilities. In November 2016, the United Nations Committee for Human Rights published its findings of "grave and systematic violations of rights of people with disabilities" due to UK welfare reform.

We have arranged a free viewing of the powerful film "I, Daniel Blake", followed by discussion about the film and the issues it raises regarding changes to our benefits system.

Internationally acclaimed Film Director Ken Loach will be attending and speaking at the event.

Doors Open: 6pm

Venue: The You Foundation, Old School Campus, Page Road, Staple Hill, BS16 4NE

Fully accessible. Free Parking. Refreshments available to buy.

This is a free event, although we ask for donations on the evening towards costs, with all profits going towards a local Foodbank.

Entry will be by prior reservation only. To reserve a place please apply on this Eventbrite page.
