I, Daniel Blake - Free Film Screenings

This event has been organised by Killingbeck and Seacroft Labour Party Branch and Ruth Patrick from the University of Liverpool who has been researching the impact of welfare reform on people living in Leeds, and is about to publish a book ‘For whose benefit: the everyday realities of welfare reform.’
Both "I Daniel Blake" and the short animation "Dole Animators" will be screened at 12.30pm and 7.30pm. Refreshments will be available at both screenings.
After the films are shown, there will be the option to participate in a short discussion. There will be brief presentations from the following:
Individuals living in East Leeds who have experienced welfare reform
Local MP Richard Burgon
Ruth Patrick* from the University of Liverpool
