Thu 23 February 2017, 17:00 – 18:00 GMT
Have you ever thought about designing, managing and completing your own project ? Would you like to compete in a worldwide competition held in the USA? Want to enhance your CV? We are looking for students to join our interdisciplinary iGem team.
The international Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition uses fundamental biology to tackle real world problems in fields such as healthcare, agriculture, food security, etc. As in any other project-oriented work, the teams require input from as many perspectives as possible.
We are looking for motivated undergraduate students coming from a range of disciplines who are dedicated team players and willing to step out of their comfort zone. Some of the tasks required for the project include laboratory work, desk research, presentation, website development, public engagement and entrepreneurship. It is up to the team to shape their path to success.
All we need for you is to be 23 or younger, an undergraduate student in the summer of 2017 and currently achieving 2:1 or higher degree classification. You also must be available to be in Sheffield over the summer.
