Event description
As part of our Citizenship and PSHEE programme we would like to invite you to a theatre production and group work programme.

About this Event

As part of our Citizenship and PSHEE programme we would like to invite you to a theatre production and group work programme on Tuesday 28th January 2020 from 7.00pm onwards, which tells the story of Daniel Spargo-Mabbs who tragically died at the age of 16 from an overdose of MDMA. ‘I Love You, Mum – I Promise I Won’t Die’ is a verbatim play, written by acclaimed playwright Mark Wheeller

Aims of our evening is to offer drug and alcohol awareness sessions for parents and carers which update them on the world of young people, drugs and alcohol, what they need to know and what they can do to help their children make safe choices.

How long is the evening?

It is delivered in a single 75 minute session which comprises the 45 minute play and 30 minute Q&A workshop in our St Mary’s Hall.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dan’s story, retold in Mark Wheeller’s moving verbatim play ‘I Love You, Mum – I Promise I Won’t Die’, has taken to the road again this term in the talented hands of StopWatch Theatre Company.

Over 14,000 young people have experienced this powerful production this term. Performances were followed by interactive workshops to pick up key issues and enable them to learn more about the risks of drugs and alcohol and how to make safe choices themselves.

“WOW! The most impactful external session we’ve had all school year!”

“Delivered in a creative way, sensitively and reflective of real life”

“A life-changing, perhaps life-saving, experience”
